The Jaguars are an elite group of Space Pirates, the three members of which are Kell, Bello and Soon-soon. There is no official leader among them as leadership changes depending on the situation.[1][2]
Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash![]
During a cutscene before report 3, Space Pirate Showdown, Jaguar asks the trio if they are ready to investigate the case, to which they answer "Ready when you are!".
At the beginning of report 3, the Jaguars will taunt Ulala and the twins, then fly away, after the main trio caught up with them, the Jaguars and a group of Space Pirates will start shooting at Ulala and the twins, to avoid their attacks and counter, the main trio must copy the Jaguars' moves, after which all of the Space Pirates but Kell and the other two Jaguars flee, at which point theyl present themselves and start a dance battle, after defeating them, they are all surprised by Glitter's ship, which then abducts Ulala and the trio.
They later appear again at report 4, The Final Report, where Glitter had taken them hostage, along with Ulala, Pudding, Tachibana and 88MAN; during the battle between the player and Glitter, the trio will eventually encourage the player and assist them in the singing parts, they are later saved by Jaguar and the player then join forces with them to save Ulala and defeat Glitter, after the latter being defeated, Kell and her team with the rest of the heroes celebrate by dancing, later, the credit sequence will eventually cut to Kell and her team, who will form hand stack with the player.
Trivia[]
- The dance the Jaguars perform while Ulala and the player face off against them is a callback to Jaguar's dance in the original Space Channel 5. This is especially apparent in hard mode.
- In the Japanese version, they say the same lines as Jaguar did before his dance battle against Ulala in Space Channel 5.
- The melody that plays while Ulala and the player face off against the Jaguars is remix of Jaguar's theme, which was first heard in the Space Channel 5 Original Soundtrack as a bonus track.
- A planning document states that the Jaguars are "a trio of professionals from another galaxy/galaxies" that are "working together with the Space Pirate Broadcasting Station."[2]
