Ulala's Channel J is a mobile game for Japanese Vodafone devices in July 2001. The game was made up of up several mini-games, most themed after the series and specifically Space Channel 5: Part 2. Some featured 3D graphics that required higher-specification devices to play.^[1]^[2]^[3] The service shut down in September 2005, though the applications are still playable.^[4]

The sharp-manufactured model J-SH07 also came with Space Channel 5 java content, containing ringtones, Ulala speech samples an dancing 3D characters in the background. Both titles were launched in July 2001.^[5] As it turns out that the content were 300 yen per month plus the game and its content was on more phone models like the:

Development[]

According to Tetsuya Mizuguchi (in a interview in 2015 to Medium.com) after the failure of the MTV TV show and Columbia Movie he was contracted by Vodafone [a cellular phone giant mostly unknown in the US] came up to him and offered to employ Ulala as their cyber agent, their onscreen navigation gal. She became the world’s first real-time 3D CG cyber agent on phones. She danced when the phone rings and asks how the conversation was after hanging up. It sold 8 million units in Japan!”.
