Morolians is a featured article, which means it is considered to be one of the best articles in the Space Channel 5 Wiki.

Morolians are recurring characters in the Space Channel 5 series as well as the series mascots. They are an alien species first appearing as secondary antagonists in the first Space Channel 5.

They speak in a distorted high pitched voice, but appear to still be perfectly understood by humans. They were born on the planet of Morodia.

Appearance[]

Morolians are humanoid aliens that stand much shorter than the average human. They have long legs, large, digit-less feet, and mittenlike hands. All Morolians have two ear-like antennae that are tipped with yellow. They also appear to glow, as seen in the in-game videos between reports. In lieu of a typical face, Morolians have a glass screen with a red border, though it seems to function perfectly fine.

Morolians come in a variety of colors, but the most common ones are red, yellow, green, light blue, purple, and pink. Morolians that are special characters tend to be a unique color.

As of Space Channel 5 VR, it is apparent that Morolians' bodies are smooth and shiny, almost reminiscent of plastic in appearance.

History[]

Space Channel 5[]

The Morolians initially invaded Spaceport 9, among other locations, in 2499, to brainwash people into dancing uncontrollably. Ulala successfully shoots them and frees their hostages, including Pudding and the Space Rescue Police, throughout her reports. Behind the scenes, the Morolians hold meetings seemingly run by Hoorg to come up with new plans after consistent failure. It is eventually discovered that they were actually hypnotized and manipulated by Chief Blank to garner better ratings at Channel 5. After his confession to this and later defeat, the Morolians have started being treated as normal citizens.

Space Channel 5: Part 2[]

In Part 2, the humans have made peace with the Morolians and only Hoorg, who is a major character, has any significance to the game's main story. In this game, they now have their own space broadcasting channel called Moro-Channel 5 with Hoorg and Morolian Eight being some of the most notable employers.

Three Morolians, Proonk, Yaroo, and Blib, appear when Ulala does a secret command input, their appearance increasing the view rating, typically ranging from 0.2 to 1%.

In this game, the Morolians' most notable role happens in the Ulala's Dance Mode, a minigame where Ulala must fight them in a 100 stage battle without failing.

Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash![]

The Morolians are, once again, secondary antagonists in the Virtual Reality game, Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash!. In the first report, Morolians Strike Back!, they start a new invasion again, on Spaceport 9 where they force people to dance. Ulala and the recruit, Roo and Kie, go to the Spaceport to investigate the case and defeat the Morolians, first rescuing their hostages in a dance battle where they must copy the aliens moves, then they avoid getting hit by the Morolians attacks and counter by copying their moves and lastly, they fight a Coco★Tapioca, who was assisted by three yellow Morolians.

Othermoro

An Othermoro.

After being defeated, the mysterious space organism, Glitter, thanks them for the Groove Moxie they gathered during their invasion and as a form of "gratitude", he injects X Space Cells into them, turning them into a new type of Morolian called Othermoros. The new Morolians attack Ulala in the next report, A Chorus in White, where they try to get her Groove Moxie, but are defeated by Ulala and flee. The Othermoros don't make another appearance again until the fourth report, The Final Report, where they assist Glitter in the final fight, but are later freed from his control and turned back into Morolians after Glitter getting enough damage. Then, the Morolians turn to the heroes' side and assist them at getting enough Groove Moxie to defeat the space organism once and for all. Once Glitter flees, the Morolians celebrate along with the main heroes.

In this game, it is rather unclear why exactly the Morolians started an invasion, considering that if they were already brainwashed by Glitter, he wouldn't need to inject X Space Cells into them, unless of course, it was to make them stronger, as X Space Cells are said to cause side effects such as making the Morolians produce non Morolian sounds according to the official website.

Trial Dance
Morolians appear in the Trial Dance minigame, assisting Jaguar from the first to the fourth stage.

Costume
A Morolian costume for Ulala is available for download in the Hatsune Miku DLC.

Morolian, according to the official website:
A mysterious alien who makes people dance with beam rays. The character seems to be different depending on the color. He speaks Moro language, but the meaning is unknown to Earthian.
