Galaxy greetings, boys and girls.
As you all know, while our wiki is a small community, we still lack an overall sense of order and consistency to our posts and pages. I believe that this comes from a lack of interpersonal communication, and a lack of administration for the wiki as a whole.
Hence this forum topic's existence. This will allow us to plan out our future moves and come to a consensus on what to do.
Now, first and foremost, some of our members have posted in the Community Central, requesting to adopt the wiki as new administrators, but they were rejected on the grounds of the adoption guidelines. According to the staff, we must engage in a community discussion and gain group consent. That is the motivation behind creating this topic.
However, I did not want to make this solely to find new administrators. We're a community, each and every one of us that frequents and edits this Wiki. We keep it alive, and depend on one another to do so. I'd like to become better acquainted with each of you, so we can work together and make this place the best it can be.
If you have any ideas on further action, or just want to introduce yourself to your fellow contributors, go ahead, we're all Space Cats here, after all.
Okay then Big d Cat which pages do you want me to improve?, and I will do this so that we can get some motivation around here. Dophonlin5 (talk) 16:56, December 9, 2020 (UTC)
I think Dophonlin5 you should improve the Music Festival by removing the Japanese bits and fixing the page as a whole, and other newly created pages on this site first and then the others afterwards. Chloe34 (talk) 17:00, December 9, 2020 (UTC)
What about me Dophonlin5 and Chloe34? What can I do. Also Big d Cat you can be awesome at an admin role. 213.18.156.248 17:14, December 9, 2020 (UTC)
I believe Big d Cat can be the best admin this Wiki needs right now. This wiki needs it.! Dophonlin5 (talk) 20:24, December 13, 2020 (UTC)
I'm flattered, honestly. Personally, I'm trying to edit the character pages to be of a consistent format, and also adding images of the characters to their respective pages. Also, since I own Sonic and All-Stars Racing: Transformed on my Wii U, I can add images from there, and flesh out the detail of its page. I've noticed that Dophonlin5 has been at work editing pages, and I greatly appreciate it. Honestly, I think what we need to do is edit the older pages first, as a lot of their information is either outdated or a different format from the new pages we make. --Big d Cat (talk) 15:20, December 14, 2020 (UTC)
Alright then. Which older pages do you want me to do? I could do any old page you want Dophonlin5 (talk) 16:33, December 14, 2020 (UTC)
Hey guys, sorry if this is not the right place to ask, but the Brandy Smith page needs a small but serious update. Does anybody here knows where she appears in the first game? Because other than a screenshot of her in-game profile, I couldn't find a single picture, footage or information about her in the first game. So if anybody here has info about her in the first game, please update that page.--RandomHuman777 (talk) 04:05, December 15, 2020 (UTC)
It's certainly the place to ask, don't worry. I'm as stumped as you, I've been trying to look through videos of gameplay on YouTube, to see if I can spot her, but I'm not having any luck. It really shouldn't be that hard, there are only 3 Reports she could possibly be in, as no hostages appear in Report 3. But I'm not seeing her in Reports 1, 2, or 4, Extra or Normal.--Big d Cat (talk) 05:15, December 15, 2020 (UTC)
I have a question for you guys. Do you think Cloaked Purge and Dancing Purge are different enough to merit having three pages for Purge? I honestly think that their information should just be under Purge's main page. The only character, to my recollection, with multiple pages is Jaguar, with Shadow. However, the difference between Jaguar and Purge is that Shadow has a completely different role in the story from Jaguar, even if they are technically the same character. Dancing Purge is still just Purge, just with a costume change. --Big d Cat (talk) 16:41, December 17, 2020 (UTC)
Oh, I forgot about Evila. She has two pages as well, but Evila (Upgrade) is a protagonist, and a different group of robots from the orginal Evila, so hers is more justified than Purge.--Big d Cat (talk) 16:44, December 17, 2020 (UTC)--Big d Cat (talk) 16:44, December 17, 2020 (UTC)
The Cloaker Purge page really seems unnecessary. The only thing worth there is the Japanese In-Game profile, which could simply be moved to Purge's page. I'm kinda in doubt about the Dancing Purge one... though it's mainly because I was thinking about creating a category for the characters who appeared as Ulala costumes. If the Dancing Purge page were to be deleted though, the trivia and the pictures are worth to be moved for the Purge page.
Also, does anybody here has any ideas about the limits for creating pages for the Crossover Characters? --RandomHuman777 (talk) 20:19, December 17, 2020 (UTC)
I think we shouldn't go too overboard with it. I can't tell if you mean the information we put in there or who gets a profile. If you mean the latter, I think it should be characters that appear alongside Ulala on multiple occasions, and/or directly reference her, such as via a costume, like Amy Rose and Ringo Ando. In the case of the former, we only give a brief background of who the character is, and information about them specifically in the crossover appearance. --Big d Cat (talk) 22:19, December 17, 2020 (UTC)
As for the information about Purge, I had already started putting images of Dancing Purge on Purge's main page, as well as his in-game profile. I did that before I even knew there were Dancing and Cloaked Purge pages. --Big d Cat (talk) 22:21, December 17, 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, I meant the latter. I was referring to the limits for who can get a profile here, to avoid creating too many pages for non-Space Channel 5 characters. Also, just curious, when did Amy Rose reference Ulala?.--RandomHuman777 (talk) 23:07, December 17, 2020 (UTC)
Alright, I had to do a little searching to make sure I hadn't imagined it. Ulala appeared in Sonic the Comic Online, along with Pudding, Hoorg, etc. The issue of that is a page in the wiki already. Amy didn't appear in the same issue of it (I thought she did, hence the comment), but she did appear in a costume based on Ulala's in one of the comic's wallpapers. Dr. Robotnik did appear in an outfit based on President Peace in one of the wallpapers as well. However, all 3 of these instances are from Sonic the Comic Online, which is fanmade (and therefore should be disregarded in my opinion). I thought it was in Sonic the Comic, which was an official comic.
I feel dumb now, but regardless, you understood the point I was trying to make, heh. --Big d Cat (talk) 23:38, December 17, 2020 (UTC)
Hey guys! I created a new template for Featured articles to encourage users on improving the pages for this wiki. You can see how it looks like in the Pudding's page. These templates are usually added by admins and professional editors, but I think we could add it for a few pages here... I personally think that a page is good enough to be featured if:
- The page has more than 10.000 or 15.000 bytes.
- The page has no section requiring expansion.
- The page has no unsourced claims.
Any opinions on my conditions?
EDIT: Also, perhaps crossover characters shouldn't be featured to avoid flooding the Featured Article category with them.

Hello everyone! I'm curious, do we already have info regard the Space Channel 5 VR twins names? Are they called Lou and Kee or Roo and Kie? Kinda Funky News Flash is almost one year old and the "Twins name and gender debate" section in the game's page has yet to be updated.
Also I've noticed we have some categories with only one page like "Unseen Characters" and "Animals". Are they really necessary? I think we should remove them.
Moro Channel 5 (talk)
I agree. Let's do it so that this Wiki will grow and stronger. As for the twin debate for the twin names, I will find out anything more about them
Considering just how many images Ulala has, since she appears in the most games and all, do you think we should make a separate page for her gallery? There used to be a separate page, but I believe it was deleted. Since then, however, I'd say the amount of images uploaded has at least doubled, and includes many gifs. Therefore, I figure we should recreate it, but I wanted other opinions on the matter.
Big d Cat (talk) 13:22, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
I think Big d Cat that your right someone should make a page for the gallery, or edit the page and do what the Cats the Musical do with theirs. What they do is put all of the pictures of the characters into one page and then separate them into decades. Since Space Channel 5 has been around for 20 years not 40 try doing something like that.
Dophonlin5 (talk) 13:22, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
Yes, sure, we can even use this template for the characters gallery.
RandomHuman777 (talk) 15:40, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
Okay, so I've moved all of Ulala's images to the gallery. Also, since we are talking about separated pages, do you guys think we should create a separated page for the quotes if a new game was announced? I mean, right now, the lists of quotes in the Ulala/Pudding/Jaguar/etc pages look fine, but if a new game was announced, I think we should move them to a separated page. I'll be making a template Template:CharacterQuotes, which could be placed on the right side of the Gallery Template if we were to use it, but again, I don't think this would be necessary right now.
Edit: Just updating, the Character quotes template is already here in case anyone wants to check out.
