Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed is a crossover racing game developed by Sumo Digital and published by Sega, released for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U in 2012, Playstation Vita, Windows and Nintendo 3DS in 2013 and IOS and Android in 2014, the game features characters from many Sega properties as well as guest characters as racers, such as Disney’s Wreck it Ralph and JR Motorsports NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Danica Patrick.

The game is the sequel to 2010's Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, and is the fourth game in the Sega Superstars series. It stars both Ulala and Pudding as playable characters.

Gameplay[]

Before the race, the player selects a character and a mod, which will change the kart’s stats. The racers can earn boosts by drifting and performing air tricks. The game also features items which the racers can use to take advantage during the race, either to attack other racers, protect themselves, or propel themselves forward. Another feature is the All-Star Move, a special attack that the players can use after collecting an item which will make them run very quickly and attack nearby racers at the same time. The game’s main mechanic though, is that at certain points of the race, the vehicles will transform into cars, boats or planes, giving them different physics. This is similar in concept to Nintendo's Mario Kart 7, which came out between the first and second All-Stars Racing games.
